Alchemy Level Empty Alchemy Level

Post by Heartnetz Sun Mar 01, 2009 7:05 pm

Okay, so i think im going to start looking into alchemy. I've read a few guides here and there, and understand primary/jr/sr.

But heres what im unclear about, and can someone please clarify it? Razz

1. For alchemy books, if you use one is it a 100% chance of increasing the rank by +x?
so lets say for no apparent reason, you compound common stones together.
common + common + book1 = +5 possible rank?..
common + common + book2 = +6 possible rank?
common + common + book3 = +7 possible rank?
idk how right that is, but im just guessing that book1 lets you get a +5 rank, book2 gets a +6 rank, an book3 gets a +7 rank?

2. As profiency with alchemy level, how does it effect your success rate?
Would a person with level 1 junior alchemy have the same success % as someone with level 5 junior alchemy?

haha, im being kinda specific here. >.< but im curious, and thats a good thing? Very Happy

For the first things, i'm not sure to really understand what you mean but for the second, no:P When i was getting my jr alc skills lvl 1 i wasn't compound those good stuff that i compound now with my jr alc skills lvl 6 Razz It's why the people specify the required lvl in their guides Smile

Oh okay, so alchemy level does matter. do you know by how much % tho?

and for the first one, its basically how many ranks does the alchemy book add to the compound, and is it constant?

no sorry i don't know by how much % but...

I just find, in the Alchemy Lessons: Level 2 (High Level Equips) made by Rafoi, what you wanna know hehe:

"Books:

This is an AMAZINGLY essential part of High level compounding. Ok, again say you are compounding the above, Evil Gown (Rank 32), but all you can get for materials average out to rank 27 (-5) no matter what you do. WTH right? From what you've learned you can only possibly get a +4. So it's impossible? No! This is where books come in. They not only increase your chances of success but they increase your high outcome range.

Book 1 = +1
Book 2 = +2
Book 3 = +3
Book 4 = +4

"Well what does that mean?" It means when you compound your materials for your evil gown and add a book to the end your rank 27 average with a possible +4 will get an addition + possibility. So say you add book 3. you possible outcome is +7 instead of +4. So, now you can do that +5 compound. Wink" (copyright Rafoi)

ah okay, so if i use a book 3 in ur example, i could get the +5? i thought that if you used a book 3, the only outcome you will get is +7, but that didnt seem too right after i thought about it for a while D:
